Julia Barbosa Landois
Julia Barbosa Landois is a visual artist and performer whose work teases profundity and absurdity from the everyday and examines the relationship between the intimate and the public. Her videos, installations, performances, and works on paper have been exhibited in the United States, Latin America, and Europe.
Barbosa Landois was born and raised in San Antonio, TX and received a BFA in Painting with a minor in Women & Gender Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She holds an MFA in New Media from the University of Pennsylvania. Her awards include grants from National Performance Network (NPN), National Association of Latino Arts & Cultures (NALAC), and Houston Arts Alliance, plus artist residencies in the USA, Mexico, Germany, and Norway.
Barbosa Landois has also worked as a professor, mentor, youth and elder community educator, and arts administrator. She currently serves as the Impact Officer at Fresh Arts.
She has served on the committee since 2024.
